You should go and look at Wildstar streams, all people stream on Twitch are raids, so you get an idea. Shit like that will never happen in FF14, since their focus is something other than players that enjoy raiding. Challenges that obbviouslty requiere the raid to play almost perfectly. Well, Genetic Archives has literally 10 mini bosses, 6 main bosses and 5 challenge rooms these challenge rooms rotate every week, so you will have a challenge room one week and next one it will be a different one, and the 5th boss is sorta similar, its 5 different bosses, but only 4 can appear, and which appear is random every week, and for Datascape the second tier raid, 3 of the main bosses rotate every week as well)Įvery mini boss, challenge room and main boss of the raids in Wildstar have challenges that if you complete them, will drop higher item level gear. Mini bosses are actually a big deal, in FF14 you only ever got two so far over the course of two years, which is ADS and Faust. Pretty much, Wildstar raids don't assume you're a scrub and that you have a brain. Coordination in interrupting a boss is mandatory here, and thats something only ever seen in Alexander 3 Savage and nothing of the size and scope of Wildstar. The LAS (limited action set) is actually pure genius and its something that you don't get in FF14 (always the same abilities, same rotations, etc etc). Wildstar a lot of shit happens at the same time and the first time you go into a fight you will be mindfucked and wipe having absolutely zero clue what just happened.Ī lot of coordination, awareness and tracking of different things its overwhelming the amount of things you get thrown at. Everything is easy to digest, none of the fights requeire particularly quick reactions, for example in A4S, Straf and Jagd doll spawns give the dps and tanks 10 seconds without moving or attacking to be picked up. They're pretty different types of games, but FF14 is a game made for the new players into the genre, so they can clear the content. I also came directly from FF14, but I've played and raided in way too many MMOs, and there is simply no comparision between the two. This game has the best raids ever done in an MMO so far. So, yea the game is somewhat unforgiving, but in a fair way imo. What I mean but that being a good thing is that you can assign your best players to do these mechanics, so the less good players can focus on staying alive while dpsing/healing. Losing a tank is generally a wipe yea, but they are not suppose to die at all so thats understandable lol.īut, the good thing is that most of the mechanics can be assigned to people, if you need an interupt, send people to a hard place to dps something quick, split group between bosses where some are harder than others, etc. Losing a healer means that the rest of the red cant afford unecessary hits from telegraphs, and there are a lot of those dmg sources during fights. On progression, most bosses have some soft/hard enrage, so early dps deaths can become a problem. Most of the bosses do have mechanics that requires player to not fuck up otherwise it will become much harder to actually get a kill, without necessarly wiping the raid. Some mechanics will wipe the raid if 1 person fucks up, I won't lie LOL but this is not the norm.
